Dhaman

My fast-growing young Indian Rat Snake(Ptyas mucosa), also known as a "Dhaman" in its native land. This snake's skin is unbelievably soft. It's a gentle snake, but is also a bit hyperactive. It's a shame that this species is seldom imported into the United States, and when they are, it's usually as food for King Cobras in captivity. These snakes are not related at all to the Rat Snakes of North America, but are most closely-related to our Coachwhips and Racers, which they closely resemble.
