Little African Rock Python

One of a pair of my baby African Rock Pythons(Python sebae), the female, I think. This species has a much-undeserved reputation for a nasty temper, just like the Water Snakes. I have yet to see a nasty one. My two babies are extremely sweet little snakes, and my previous AfRock, an adult male that I lost to a respiratory infection years ago, was as nice and calm as they come. These snakes don't come in the wide array of genetic "morphs" that the other two giant pythons-Burmese and Reticulateds-do, unfortunately, though I still like their normal coloration. This is the third largest Python species in the world, although females get much larger than males, as with all Pythons.
