Sightless Giant

This is my gentle giant, a male Yellow Anaconda(Eunectes notaeus). He's a beautiful snake, rather different-looking from most Yellows, but he is totally blind. No one knows what happened to him, but I'm guessing that a previous owner neglected to remove several layers of stuck eye caps, and his eyes have been permanantly damaged as a result. He cannot see a thing and does not respond to visual stimuli at all. He might have even been born like this, but I got him as an adult, so I honestly don't know. He has to find his food, jumbo frozen-thawed rats, by scent alone. Unlike many Anacondas, he's a sweetheart, and loves to be carried in my arms like a baby...a really, really HEAVY baby, lol! He's fully-grown, by the way. Yellow Anacondas are the smallest of four known species of Anaconda, with the better-known Greens(Eunectes murinus)being the largest, the heaviest snake species on the planet. Male Anacondas are much, much smaller than adult females. Still, this guy is over eight feet long and thick, so there's plenty of snake here!
